Kristina

“I… you... what did you just say?” I stammer out. There is no way I heard him right. He tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear.

” You heard me, Kristina.” Tears fill my eyes and my lip trembles.

“How can you say that you don't even know me.”

“I know all the best parts of you, baby girl. I know you name babies that don't have anyone else. I know that you are strong, kind, and sweet. I know that you would do anything to protect your sister. Most of all, I know that you were meant for me. No way in hell am I going to let another second of the day go by without you knowing how much I love you.” I shake my head.

“How am I ever going to keep my walls up around you when you say stuff like that?” He leans down and kisses me softly. So softly it’s almost feather-light.

“You’re not baby, you’re supposed to just let me love you the way you are meant to be loved.” I shake my head again. I am having a hard time computing this. Fuck, I love him too but isn’t this too soon? Fuck it. I don’t care. I don’t want him to think for one second that I don’t love him too.

“Oh God, I love you too, Nick. Damn you! You broke down my walls and made me love you even when I told myself I wouldn’t,” I tell him he rolls us over so that I am laying on his chest.

“I love you too, baby girl.” We lay there in silence for a few minutes. “Hey, I have a work party to go to tomorrow. Will you come with me?”

“You want me to come?” I ask.

“Fuck yes. I can’t wait to show you off.” He scowls. “Although, I hate the idea of another man looking at you dressed all pretty.” I laugh and lay my head on his chest.

“Don't worry babe, that's not going to happen, but yes I would love to go.” He just grunts. Oh my God, he wants me to go out in public with him. Oh fuck, I have nothing to wear.
